Easter Weekend, Bethel Church, Coventry
We ran the Easter Experience at our home church Lickey Church last Easter which was a great success. As a consequence, we were asked to run to same event at Bethel Evangelical Church in Coventry, where Jo grew up.
The Coventry Telegraph had a great review in it which you can read below, down the side are some comments made by visitors to the event and a video walk-through of the experience.
We also had the opportunity to lead an all-age Easter Sunday Service (‘Christ is Risen! Alleluia!’). As a church we learnt John 10:10… anyone? ‘I have come to give you life, life in all it’s fullness.’
We used rhythm and melody, puppets, film, and a short gospel presentation to celebrate that Jesus is alive! We also included a ‘Joy, Joy, Joy!’ a brand new song written by Jo & Steve... celebrating God’s joy and giving Him praise by ‘playing’ lots of different instruments.
We also led ‘Broadband’, a contemporary evening service where we continued in the celebration theme and Damian shared some thoughts about God’s Story, looking at Jesus on the road to Emmaus.
We had a brilliant time watching many people being moved by God as they explored the Easter Story in a new and fresh way. The weekend food was ‘aided and abetted’ by Mum Grundy, culminating in the now standard ‘curry finale’.

COMEDY MOMENT:
Forgetting that towards the end of the day the sun doesn’t shine anymore, so the garden, which was supposed to be bright and sunny was kind of more dark and dingy, sorry to those who didn’t get the full impact!
EXCITING MOMENT:
A person realising that they have a reason to live!
