After summoning all the energy she could muster, Jo set off on a solo mission to find a team of children's workers in the depths of Bromyard....

The journey was uneventful and I arrived on time, in the pouring rain. There was just about enough time to set everything up ready, (after finding everything in the not so neatly packed van) and have a good strong cup of tea (hallelujah) before the rest of the team of children's workers arrived.

The afternoon began with introductions, and it was clear from the outset that all these people were really passionate about learning more about children, and being able to facilitate them in new ways of worship, and learning. (and that they were all great people!)

We looked at Faith Development in children, and put one father's mind at ease when we realised that the reasoning he'd been trying to do with his 4 year old was not going to work! It was exciting to see a group of about 10 people wanting to invest in the lives of the children they work with.

We then came to the teabreak, and oh my word... the chocolate brownies....hmmmmmm. (any donations of said brownies to BIG Ministries will be gratefully received!)

Continuing then with looking a bit more at leading worship (particularly songs) with children, and there was a lot of dancing around, and learning new songs/ ideas/ how to lead.

We chatted a bit about programmes, and about puppets, and about all sorts of things really, and they nearly wiped the shop out!

It was a great afternoon, I had a lovely time, felt really welcomed, really appreciated, and really full of chocolate brownies!

Thanks for the invite Bromyard... maybe see you again sometime.

COMEDY MOMENT:

I've never seen a group of people get so into air guitar in my life. It was funny, it was fantastic, and what a great worship experience!!

EXCITING MOMENT:

Seeing such a great group of people inspired, and excited about taking things forward with children's ministry, yes!
